Siechnice (in progress), Poland (Own account) Construction of the MRP, which will be operated in a 50/50 JV called the Local Recycling Company, has commenced. The plant, which will have a 10 year life, will treat slag, containing ~1.5 % FeCr, from an existing stockpile at a feed capacity of 300,000 t/yr. It will produce two products: metal at 5,000 t/yr and construction aggregate at 295,000 t/yr. When completed the plant will offer considerable environmental benefits by removing the slag dump from an industrial site, stopping artisanal mining, and eliminating possible Cr(VI) pollution.
